The most lucrative hip-hop trek headlined by a woman also served as the coronation of Nicki Minaj as hip-hop’s newest queen. What made The Pinkprint Tour such a gloriously over-the-top affair was its seamless balance of dramatic Broadway-like theater, silly high jinks and a flex of artistic ferocity. One moment Minaj was in a black lace dress covering her eyes while mourning the loss of a turbulent union during “The Crying Game.” The next, she was backing up her memorable appearance on Kanye West’s “Monster” as the most wig-snatching guest verse of that decade. And the Barbz went wild.

The Pinkprint Tour was the third concert tour by Trinidadian recording artist Nicki Minaj in support of her third studio album, The Pinkprint. The tour was officially announced a week before the album's release, on December 8, 2014. The video attached shows the Pinkprint tour in Atlanta where Nicki's performances are performed. She is first seen in a pink dress singing her song alone on the stage. This aesthetic is different compared to what we usually see. She had no background dancers or any big stage effects. You can see the engagement in the crowd and the amount of love she receives with this one on one moment. As it later brings in a male singer, who is at the time her boyfriend, the crowd gets more hyped and her outfit is more flashy. This is different from performances we’ve seen in the 1980s where everyone is dancing. Instead the crowd is singing, and since there aren’t dance floors, they are standing up and chantaning. Before the clip ends she is seen in a pink diamond two piece. This is an aesthetic that is new as in the 1980s they didn’t perform with outfit changes. The gross of this tour was $22 million from 38 shows.
